Men Positioned to Take League Title
Titan wins in the first two League meets, along with South Pas and La Canada swapping 2nd and 3rd, give the San Marino men a solid position to take the League title. Although the competition has gotten tighter, the Titans have consistently beaten League rivals in both league meets and invitationals. The individual title seemed firmly in South Pas’ Cullen Irvine’s hands after he won both League meets, but John had the best time at Mt. SAC -- so it should be a real battle. The season has been remarkable in the number of Titan personal bests achieved. League Finals on the home Lacy Park course will give the team another opportunity to lower their PRs on the way to a Rio Hondo victory.
Girls Face an Uphill Challenge Against Strong Spartan Ladies Team
After a strong summer training program the Lady Titans looked competitive, but they have not been able to catch a break this season with illness and injury decimating the small squad. After their strong performance in the Mt. SAC D4 Sweepstakes race, PrepCalTrack has La Canada ranked #5 in CIF SS-D4 and 10th in State D4. By winning the first two league meets, the Spartans are in strong position for the League title. The San Marino girls have pulled down a few PRs this season, but never all in the same race. They will need their traditional end-of-season performance surge in order to make the meet competitive.
