Central Park Invitational
October 7, 2017, Central Park in Huntington Beach

The Titans competed in the Large Schools division at the Central Park Invitational, mainly going up against D1 and D2 programs.  October 7 was an SAT test day and a number of athletes did not compete in the meet.  In the Girls Varsity race, Olivia Ruiz placed 21st in a time of 19:04.  The next finisher was freshman Lily Tong in 21:52, for 162nd place.  The Varsity Girls only had 4 participants, so did not get a team score.  In the JV Girls race, the team placed 23rd overall.  The leading girl in the JV race was sophomore Nicole Chen, who ran 23:27 and placed 100th.

The Varsity Boys fielded three runners and did not have a team score.  Junior Joseph Weber was the first Titan to finish, with a time of 17:55 in 199th place.  Jonathan Chen came through next at 18:26 in 220th place.  In the JV Boys race, the team placed 31st overall.  Sophomore Kai Barra led the team with a 19:35 (176th place), followed by Leighton McBryde at 20:02 (208th place) and Auberon Lai at 20:10 (211th place).

The Freshman Boys placed 26th as a team.  The first Freshman finisher was Jonathan Karkafi at 19:29, good for 94th place.  The next two finishers were Joshua Chen (20:41, 166th) and Yuki Hoshino (20:47, 167th).
