With a decisive margin of 52 points, San Marino’s Cross Country team nailed down an amazing fourth consecutive CIF Championship in December at Long Beach State College.

Leading the way was Co-Captain Bill Kilpatrick in 9:52 and a third place finish, followed by Nick Rosner only inches behind in fourth place.  Nick was given the same time.  Andy Dunstan came in thirteenth in the time of 10:13, Alan Hicks was 15th in 10:19, Ken Link 22nd in 10:30, Bill Walker 25th in 10:32, and Doug Hurley came in 29th in 10:37.  Over 70 runners competed in the race.

For the third consecutive year, the Varsity went undefeated, running its consecutive string to 33. The Varsity finished third out of 31 schools in the Dominguez Invitational, won its division of the Mt. SAC Invitational, and won the Rio Hondo Championship.

The Junior Varsity also had a highly successful year, winning ten straight, and stretching their undefeated skein to 26, plus winning the Rio Hondo League Championship.

The Freshman-Sophomore team went unbeaten in eight meets, won the League Championship, and has won 13 consecutive meets.
