The Titans will road trip to the San Francisco Bay area this weekend for the Crystal Springs Invitational in Belmont hosted by Junipero Serra High School. Over 20 runners and a number of parents will enjoy some bonding time on the bus, at the meet and during activities planned in San Francisco after the races.
Races kick off at 9:30 with JV Boys, followed by Girls Varsity at 10:00, Men’s Varsity at 11:00, and JV Girls at 11:30. There are over 30 teams competing in each race, at first glance almost exclusively from the CIF Central Coast, Central, and Sac-Juaquin Sections. A few qualifiers to the State meet in 2013 will be competing, but look to be in the “Championship” Varsity division races. So, San Marino will have to represent the Southern Section well (while still having fun).
The 2.95 Mile course is purpose-built for cross country overlooking Crystal Springs Reservoir along the famous San Andreas Fault.
