Mt. SAC - Alissa fought an exciting battle with Bishop Mongomery’s Danielle Shanahan for the fifth and last slot for State up the final bump to the finish. Shanahan came from behind so Alissa was not aware of the challenge until the finish line. Both had the same time but Alissa had too much of a lead to be caught. It took an impressive time of 18:41 to make it happen. Alissa ran a 20:06 just a month ago at the Mt. SAC Invitational.
Alissa wasn’t the only Lady Titan to slash big chunks off her best at Mt. SAC. Freshman Sarah (yes, with an ‘h’) Linton finished today’s race in 20:29, bettering her previous best on the course by a minute and a half. You know that the girls are in fast company when a 20:29 is only good for 62nd place.
Veronica Mejia joined the party by taking 51 seconds off her Mt. SAC time of last month. Caitlin Hittner matched that performance by running 50 seconds faster. And, Lindsay Snaer set a Mt. SAC personal record with a minute twenty second faster performance.
This was a great team performance, topped by only 13 other Division 4 teams in Southern California.
