The Titan girls continued to set a torrid pace on Saturday as three of them raised the season highs in their events.  That discussion has to start with the incredible show that Anya Kwan is putting on in the pole vault this season..On Saturday, she raised her school record yet again, a performance that was good for second place behind Dre Mercado of Covina High, a Division 3 school.

While we’ve almost come to expect great performances from Anya, a young cross country athlete surprised many of us with a crushing performance in the 3200.  Freshman Olivia Harrigian knocked half a minute off Alissa Barraza’s season mark with an 11:46, good for third place in the frosh-soph division.  Just 11 seconds separated Olivia from a victory and her time would have earned her 4th place in the varsity race.

Junior Alissa Barraza continues to knock down season marks with almost every performance.  Saturday, it was the 1600 meters as she whacked 7 seconds off the season mark that she set two weeks ago.

In other races, freshman Angela Wang is showing herself to be a strong competitor in the 800 meters and will be one to watch.  The guys came close to some season highs but didn’t knock any down.
