Jeff Williams - Head Coach

Jeff Williams (born December 31, 1965) is an American former track and field athlete who specialized in the 200-meter dash. He was the bronze medalist at the 1995 World Championships in Athletics and reached the 200 m final at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He set an American record in the 200 m indoors in 1996.

He was a late bloomer and attended his first world championship competition at the age of 29. Williams was unusual for an elite male runner at the time in that he had a female coach: 1968 Olympic gold medallist Barbara Ferrell.

Eduardo Mundo - Assistant Coach for mid-distance and long-distance runners

Mundo cutout

Eduardo Mundo has been San Marino’s cross country coach since the 2008 season.  Eduardo inherited a program with a proud CIF tradition that had fallen on hard times.  He turned it around in his first year, guiding the men to the CIF (Southern Section) Prelims for the first time since 2002.  With a small team.  The following year, he guided the men to the Finals and that has continued every year since.  The girls advanced to CIF in 2010 and made the Finals in 2011 and 2012.

Eduardo was an 800 athlete in school and that event is his first love.  Aside from his responsibilities as mid- and long-distance coach, he will be the event coordinator for the team’s home meets.

Andy Steben - Assistant Coach for pole vault

Andy Steben has been the pole vault vault coach at Occidental College for 31 years. During that tenure, Steben produced numerous standout performers including College record holder Gunnar Miller '94 (17' 4.75"), and 2001 NCAA All-American and 2002 NCAA qualifier Marisa Omori '03.

While a student at Occidental College (1966-69; degree in physical education), Steben competed in three NCAA Championship meets, vaulted in three AAU Championships, won the national NAIA title in each of his three tries, and set the school record (his 16'8" is still second on the all-time list).  Steben, a teacher in San Marino, graduated from Oxy with a degree in physical education.  He resides in Alhambra with his wife Anne.
