The Monrovia High Wildcats visited San Marino High for the Titans’ first Rio Hondo League meet of the 2015 track season. Although Monrovia appeared to have a smaller squad than in previous seasons and had been soundly defeated by the South Pas Tigers in their first RHL meet, the Titans unfortunately have even less depth this season and came away with only one team win in the Boys Frosh Soph division. There were several good individual performances for the Titans, especially in the field events.
The shot put athletes had significant season bests -- Thomas Ary threw 38’ 7” ( a 2’ 7” improvement), Nicholas St. Geme threw 35’ even (a 1’ 6” improvement), Aloisio Figueira improved 2’ to 34’ 2”, and Jack Feroyan also improved 2’ to 33’ 5”. In the jumps, Chuma Azinge flew to season bests in both the long jump (18’ 2’ a 14” increase) and triple jump (42’ flat, a 1’ 4” improvement). Mitchell Hee also had a best in the triple jump to 35’ 7” (a 14” improvement). Jackie Elliot took a second off her previous season best in the 200 meter dash, finishing in 26.69 seconds.
