The Titan team wound up Rio Hondo competition, with Chuma Azinge shining again in the boys varsity, winning three individual 1st place medals and a 3rd place in the 4x100 relay. Freshman Justin Wang was similarly impressive in the frosh-soph division, winning the 200M, placing 3rd in the 100M, and contributing to 3rd place finishes in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Kyana Huang also grabbed four medals in the girls frosh-soph division, placing 3rd individually in the 200M and 400M, and placing 3rd with her teammates in the 4x100 and 4x400M relays.
Other multiple medal winners were: Ben Tang, who grabbed three 3rd place medals (400M, 4x100 and 4x400) in the frosh-soph boys division; Brian Byrne, with two 3rd place medals (200M and 4x100) in the varsity boys, Olivia Ruiz, who had a 2nd place finish in the 800M with a huge PR performance and came back with a 3rd place in the varsity girls 4x400 relay, Meg Hannan with a 2nd in the frosh-soph 1600M and a 3rd in the 4x400, and Sophia Battaglia who had two 3rd place medals from her frosh-soph 4x100 and 4x400 contributions.
All of the Titan medal winners are listed below. Varsity athletes that qualified for CIF compeition will head to Estancia High in Orange County for CIF-Division 3 competition on May 13.
